Subject:Great News! Ed returns...sorta.
Posted by:countrapula.
Time:1:45 am.
There was a posting over at www.stuckeyville.com which reports that TBS may have picked up the syndication rights for Ed and will begin airing the episodes weekdays beginning January 17th at 12/11 central time. Great news!

Here's the posting:

Subject:ScreenCap Request (x-posted)
Posted by:cornrelish.
Time:2:47 pm.
I was wondering if anyone had/is able to make a screencap of a certain scene from the episode "Pretty Girls and Waffles" (first season). I'm particularly looking for the scene when Carol is hesitating about throwing the waffle. I haven't seen this episode in ages, so I can't remember the exact expression.

I would be eternally grateful.

Man, I wish they'd release these episodes on DVD... I can't even find a script for this episode (without paying $16.50 for it).

Subject:Final Episode
Posted by:dommies_hobbit.
Time:7:44 am.
Mood: cheerful.
I turned on the show, expecting to cry my eyes out the whole time...but instead I laughed until my sides hurt.

I have watched the show since the beginning and sadly only found this community last week.

There have been so many times where if something didn't go the way I wanted it to go, I was going to quite watching...but I did not.

It's so sad not knowing the future of the show as my weekly ritual was to sit down and watch Ed with my dad.

Anyway...the last show was so good...and I did not cry my eyes out until they started running the black and white photos of the wedding. So sad...so happy.

I'll miss Ed...and like many of you, am hoping and praying that they put every seasong of Ed on DVD...cause I'll buy them all. For now, I have the final two episodes on video cause my dad taped them for me...so I'll watch those until I wear the tape out. ^_^

Hmm, I'd really love to have past episodes of Ed on DVD or something... but I don't think they're being produced... can anyone offer some assistance with this?

Subject:Ed Canceled?
Posted by:caseymalone.
Time:1:10 am.
Hi all.
I heard that the season finale for Ed was probably going to be the SERIES finale for this wonderful show. USA Today predicts it's dead, and they tend to be right, the move to Friday certainly would back them up...
So I was wondering if there was anything as Ed fans we could do to keep such a great show on the air? We, the viewers, and the actors and writers wont have another chance to watch and write and be part of such a great show... so let me know if you've got any ideas, thanks :-)

Subject:Ed's big decision...
Posted by:scarcrest.
Time:1:25 pm.
I know we're supposed to be rooting for Ed to choose Carol. But I'm not -- I know I'm probably in the minority in this, but here's why:

If Ed weren't with Frankie, I think Carol would probably be dating the teacher played by Chris Isaak. She didn't want Ed until she saw herself losing him, which leads me to think she's seen him as the fall-back guy. "I'll date all these bad boys until I'm ready to settle down, then I'll pick Steady Ed," is the line of thought.

Do I have to go into how bad that is? How toxic?

Frankie doesn't see Ed as the guy she wants to be with after she's had her fun running around. She just sees Ed as the guy she wants to be with, unless something happens next week to change it. Yes, she's gone to see Leon, but that's because Ed's not doing right by her at this point in the relationship.

My initial thought after Friday night's episode was that this was a situation where no one was completely wrong. And that if you did villainize her for doing this, you had to villainize Ed for his behavior the first two-and-a-half seasons. But then I realized that's not right ... Carol has taken Ed for granted. It's a bit late now to decide she wants him. Because I'm not sure she does want him ... I think it's more likely that she just wants to keep him as an option.

Just my thoughts.

Does anyone know anything about the actor playing Mark? It must've taken a lot of courage to film that last episode, but I hope for his sake that he's making a concerted effort to lose weight. I've always liked his character, and the fact that both he and Molly are not model-perfect, but he's not just large, he's dangerously obese. Any word on whether he's considering the surgery or starting an intensive diet and excersize regime to coincide with his character's?

Subject:Introducing myself, plus last night's episode
Posted by:scarcrest.
Time:1:48 pm.
Mood: thoughtful.
Last night's episode of Ed has driven me to seek out communities of the show's fans... I've gotta talk about this with someone who gets it, and most of my friends don't watch (their loss). So, here goes...

Spoilers, if you haven't seen the past two episodesCollapse )

Of course, there's some nasty subtext to all of this season. Ed's sweeping romantic gestures were sweet in intent, and I think his concerns about Dennis were genuine (not just jealousy, though there was some of that as well). But at the same time, there's fine line between loving devotion and stalking. I mean, really -- the idea of a guy showing up in a suit of armor to serenade his lady fair works in TV and movies, but I don't know one woman who wouldn't call 911 if that happened in real life.

First post here, so go easy on me...

Subject:It's Ed & Carol!
Posted by:melbo.
Time:12:11 pm.
Mood: optimistic.
I knew they wouldn't get married. WOOO! I also knew that Ed wouldn't end up breaking up the wedding...she would have hated him for that and that wouldn't work at all. I loved last night's episode...the sister & Warren, Ed & Carol hugging in Stuckeybowl, the fact that Carol did not marry Dennis. Wooo! It definitely made my night.

Did anyone else cheer when Ed kissed Carol? (Finally?!) He's such a great actor (they all are, really) that he perfectly conveyed the little "Try to stop thinking about that all summer" smirk.

...And I can't answer the poll because honestly I don't know what I want... I think I want Carol to start wavering in her relationship with Dennis... that could take them halfway through the next season, even, and I daresay that's probably what they're going to do. Ed & Carol should wait at least 'till season three, ya know? (But no more Bonnie!)

I have but one gripe: Molly? Who's Molly again?
